Hardship Grants Programme 2016

Disadvantaged and vulnerable young people in Kent face enormous challenges.  The recession has impacted on every community across the county, but none more so than Kent’s young people who have suffered disproportionately from a lack of employment opportunities.  Colyer-Fergusson Charitable Trust plans to use its funds to support disadvantaged young people and help them navigate the difficult journey into adulthood.  The Trust is keen to expand its successful hardship awards programme across Kent, with the aim of reaching a larger number of young people with poverty of opportunity.

The hardship grants are aimed at disadvantaged young people living in Kent and are intended to meet the costs of practical items such as: interview clothes; course fees; tools or equipment; travel costs to a new job etc.

All applicants must be referred by an approved CFCT referral partner.  If your organisation believes it may be in a position to refer young people for a hardship award please download this guidance material which provides programme criteria and information about how to apply to become a partner.
